For Patients & Families
Long-Distance & Out-of-County Medical Transportation
Allegiance's core service area is the Piedmont Triad, but long-distance medical trips outside that area can be arranged by request.
← Back to ResourcesAllegiance’s standard service area covers the Piedmont Triad, including Forsyth, Guilford, Davidson, Davie, Stokes, and Yadkin counties. For appointments outside that area — a specialist visit in Charlotte, Chapel Hill, Durham, or elsewhere — long-distance transportation can be arranged on a by-request basis.
When Long-Distance Transportation Makes Sense
This typically comes up for specialist care not available locally, a transfer to a facility outside the Triad, or a family that simply doesn’t have another way to get a loved one to a distant appointment.
What to Know Before Booking
Long-distance trips need more advance notice than a local appointment, and pricing works differently than the standard mileage-based estimate on our Ride Estimate page, which is built for local trips. Contact us directly for a long-distance quote.
How to Request a Long-Distance Trip
Call our office with the pickup and destination addresses, the appointment date and time, and any mobility equipment needed, and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
